The GPSR does not affect cosmetic products, except for additional information requirements for online sales. Cosmetic products remain primarily regulated by the Cosmetic Products Regulation (CPR).
One of the objectives of the GPSR is to improve traceability and the communication of safety-related consumer information of products sold over the internet in the EU.
Article 19 of the GPSR requires that all safety-related information that is normally presented to consumers on the product packaging (e.g. ingredients list, warnings and precautions, instructions for safe use, etc.), is also available on the website where the product is sold. The warnings, precautions and instructions for safe use must be provided in the official languages of the EU member state where the consumer is located.
Additionally, GPSR article 19 requires that next to the physical address of the RP also the electronic address of the RP (website or e-mail) is presented on the website where the product is sold.
To meet this requirement please forward this url www.theregcom.com/rp down the supply-chain, and ensure that it is included on all e-commerce platform(s) in addition to the safety-related information where your products are sold online (e.g. your own/distributor web shop, Amazon, Sephora, etc.) and where TRC is the EU RP for the respective products. www.theregcom.com/rp
It is sufficient to communicate all safety-related information and this url through clearly legible uploaded product pictures on the e-commerce platforms. If this is not the case, the information must be included separately/additionally on the web page where the product is sold.
This requirement applies from December 13, 2024.
