Food supplements must be labelled according to strictly defined labelling requirements. The requirements do not only apply to the (quantitative) ingredients listing, but also to mandatory items on the primary and secondary packaging, claims and the language(s) used on the label. We will provide input, advise and review to enable you to streamline the process.
When marketing multiple products in multiple countries in multiple languages it is easy to lose track, make mistakes, run into costly reworks, and spend too much time.
Based on the PIF and the product assessment our experts will define the mandatory regulatory content for your product. Our experts will also review the substantiation (e.g. test results, scientific literature) of your claims, and where needed advise on the rephrasing of your claims to ensure authority approval in case of inspection. General labelling requirements are defined by EU regulations. However, at an individual member state level additional requirements such as the inclusion of specific warnings may apply to products.
We will deliver a so-called regulatory content brief (RCB) to be used as input for your product labels, online shop product information, and product brochures. The brief includes the correct set up of the supplement facts, ingredients list, Quantitative Ingredient Declaration (QUID), precautions and warnings, product claims, etc.
It is important to bear in mind that products need to be sold with the local language(s) on the labels for each individual country. Not all information needs to be translated country by country and it is possible to work with multilingual labelling. We can advise on what needs to be translated, what country roll-out plan to follow, and where needed what labelling (clustering) strategy to take.
With the RCB you can have your artwork (re)designed and your marketing texts (re)written. Once completed our experts will review your artwork, and advise on the food supplement information provided on the website(s) and in other marketing materials including product brochures.
TRC will monitor regulatory changes and advise on possible corrective actions in order to stay compliant over time.
It is our aim to avoid cumbersome post launch relabelling and/or costly reworks by ensuring that you will have compliant labels and marketing materials designed upfront. And whenever you decide to reformulate your products, to ease your redesign by issuing an updated RCB.
